I am proud to be offering BUZZ MOBILE, 2008 Marlow 78E Command Bridge for sale. Based out of Clearwater, Florida this yacht has had a top of the line maintenance program throughout her life and is in excellent condition throughout.
Marlow Yachts have been in production since 2000 and are the brainchild of yachting industry visionary David Marlow. His revolutionary Marlow Yachts were created to fit a desire in the yachting world for a versatile and capable yacht with abilities that were not thought possible to have all together in one platform.
For example, a yacht that can economically run at 10 knot displacement speeds but also cruise at 20+ knots when desired, in stabilized comfort. Or a yacht that can have a solid strut keel to protect the propellers from damage and only have a 5’3” draft….with a range of 1,450 nautical miles at displacement speed or 636 nautical miles at 20 knots. Buzz Mobile is capable of all these…and more.
Buzz Mobile, as a “78E” is 82’10” overall, but somehow manages to be a functional owner/operator platform when desired or fully capable of housing crew with sizeable crew quarters aft. Wide walk around decks on both the main deck AND around the sides of the enclosed bridge enable excellent visibility traversing from port to starboard or fore to aft with high gunnels and rails. Buzz Mobile is also equipped with powerful bow and stern thrusters and a Yacht Controller wireless docking remote. Bottom line, the current owners are perfectly comfortable running and docking the yacht with just the 2 of them aboard.
On extended trips for a yacht this size it is not unheard of to bring along a mate to assist with the more mundane tasks of washing the boat down after a run or doing other maintenance and upkeep work…allowing the owner to enjoy running and operating the vessel but not worry with the other tasks. Buzz Mobile’s crew quarters are spacious and comfortable to accommodate additional personnel if desired and are located aft of the engine room for discretion and privacy.
The overall feel of Buzz Mobile is very spacious and comfortable, made possible by the 20’4” beam. This beam allows for very wide walk around decks but also a very open and accommodating feeling in the salon, something of a shortcoming in the smaller 70ft class Marlows.
There are many points of access from the dock to get aboard Buzz Mobile that can accommodate different setups. From the transom there are boarding stairs port and starboard, with a hydraulic passarelle that deploys on the starboard side that can extend to different lengths, raise and lower and also has a hand hold that pops up and goes the length of the walkway. About midships on the port and starboard side there is a swinging door in the gunnel with a hookup for collapsible boarding stairs that will adjust depending on the height, even as the tide changes. This makes boarding and departing the yacht a breeze, even for people with limited mobility or those who have not yet acquired “sea legs”.
Upon boarding Buzz Mobile for the first time, guests are amazed at how safe and secure the yacht feels with the high gunnels all around the main deck, even on the bow (super safe for pets and children). From the freshly lacquered deck cap rails, heavy duty stainless steel fixtures, solid teak flooring, glossy gel coat and gorgeous solid teak aft deck table and chairs anyone from seasoned “old salts” to non-boaters are immediately impressed…this is not your run of the mill yacht, this is something special.
Moving into the salon from the aft deck, guests go from highly impressed to blown away. The quality and detail in the exquisite Burmese teak is breathtaking throughout the entire interior of BUZZ MOBILE. Custom cut from a select few trees and painstakingly matched for a seamless visual experience, this is an interior that even a carpenter will view with admiration. From the handcrafted hand rails to the sculpted valances to the teak and holly floor, it is a sight to behold. Accents of brass and blue throughout bring a classic yet contemporary nautical feel.
The large windows provide ample natural light while an array of LED overhead, sconce and indirect lights provide multiple different light options depending on the situation. In the salon a fixed sofa is to starboard surrounded by 4 easy chairs with end tables and a hi/lo coffee table…a relaxing and inviting retreat where 6 can spread out and converse in comfort. Entertainment comes in the form of a pop-up flat screen smart TV with Bose surround sound system.
Moving forward to the port side in the main cabin is a fully equipped wet bar featuring a sink, icemaker, wine chiller, designated glass storage and liquor bottle storage. A large buffet top also enables space for a great spread of appetizers or drink options. To starboard is a dining table with removable leaf that enables up to 6 to fine in comfort with silverware and china storage close by.
The country kitchen in Buzz Mobile will make the chef of the family feel at home even on an extended stay aboard! All the accoutrements of a home kitchen are here. Ample refrigerator/freezer space, oven, 4 burner cooktop, dishwasher, microwave/convection oven, trash compactor, stainless steel sink with garbage disposal and tons of storage. Also a must note is the amount of granite counter space in this full U-shaped configuration with fluted catches around the edge to prevent items rolling off and landing on the floor.
An informal curved dinette area is located just below the front windows that is raised up for excellent visibility of your surroundings outside. Up to 4 can sit comfortably here and converse with anyone in the galley close by. Also in this area is a jumper desk with 4 large storage drawers and vhf radio. HDMI cables and power plugs enable a portable flat screen TV to be set up for viewing from the dinette or the galley if desired.
The country kitchen is located centrally in the vessel, with access to port and starboard “pilothouse” doors to access the exterior decks, stairs up to the enclosed command bridge and stairs down to the companionway foyer and staterooms.
Going up the stairs from the country kitchen in Buzz Mobile you will find yourself in the expansive command bridge (often called enclosed bridge). The command bridge is a special upgraded feature of the 78E Marlow series and is very popular due to the complete climate controlled nature of the area, allowing the captain to run Buzz Mobile in comfort while staying completely out of the elements. The A/C system in this area is extremely powerful and will keep the area cool even on a hot day in the Florida climate. Visibility is not a concern here as there are huge windows on all sides as well as doors both port and starboard as well as aft to get where you need to be quickly.
The helm layout is superb as you would expect for such a cleverly designed yacht, with 3 chartplotter screens at your fingertips and all the necessary navigation and vessel controls as well. With 2 helm chairs and 2 large L-shaped sofas with dining tables there is seating for 8 or more in the huge command bridge. Extra comforts include HDMI and power outlets for a portable TV as well as a refrigerator at arm’s length from the captain.
Even with the command bridge upgrade you need not compromise outdoor flybridge entertainment space, for directly aft outside the bridge is a large U-shaped seating area with gorgeous solid teak table…a perfect private getaway spot for a guys card game or intimate conversation. Also in this area are a fully enclosed day head with sink and full wet bar with stainless steel propane grill.
Aft of this outdoor lounge space is a huge deck for space to accommodate a dinghy, kayaks and other gear. A davit crane is there as well to lower the dinghy and gear in and out of the water. A staircase is to port that allows flybridge access directly from the aft deck. There is also a stainless steel ladder with designated storage here to access the top of the flybridge where the radar mast and various antennae are located.
Going back into the country kitchen of Buzz Mobile and down the beautiful teak curved staircase you will find yourself in the foyer of the stateroom accommodations. Here there are 2 bunk beds, linen closet and a Massive in-floor storage compartment where dry goods, suitcases and other items can be stored out of the way.
The owner’s suite is an ultra luxurious retreat, a place to come relax at the end of a long day of adventure and unwind with a good book or your favorite TV show before bed. The 20’4” beam of the yacht is truly felt here, with space for a center line king berth with nightstands on either side and plenty of walking around floor space. To port is a vanity with plenty of storage drawers and 2 hanging lockers while the starboard side houses 2 additional hanging lockers and a gigantic dresser with 12 wide drawers. In the forward bulkhead is a cabinet with front loading separate washer and dryer units that is extremely convenient come laundry day.
The owner’s suite aboard Buzz Mobile also features an enormous bathroom with separate fully equipped his and hers heads and a large walk-in shower between. Imagine a yacht with your own toilet, sink, vanity and bathroom storage drawers just for you! The shower is also huge, with plenty of space for 2 and a shower head with wand.
The VIP suite forward also features a king size berth and plenty of storage space for 2 for extended stays aboard. Entertainment includes a flat screen TV with independent stereo system and there is also an ensuite head with walk-in shower. Guests staying aboard in this stateroom are certainly treated to a comfortable and luxurious experience!
The guest bunkroom aboard Buzz Mobile features 3 twin berths, flat screen TV, independent stereo system, hanging locker and storage drawers. There is also an ensuite head with walk-in shower. This room can function perfectly as a kids hideaway but is comfortable also for another couple…the 3 bunks certainly offer a degree of versatility.
Access to the crew quarters is made via the transom bustle door or through a ladder from the aft deck. The crew quarters on Buzz Mobile is configured as one open area to give the crew as much spaciousness as possible. Within are a queen berth, separate twin berth, desk, multiple storage drawers, hanging locker, refrigerator, freezer and microwave. There is a flat screen tv and independent stereo system as well for entertainment. A crew wet head is accessible through a door to starboard. Notable in this area is a lazarette storage area between the crew quarters and the transom bustle door and provides storage space for spare parts, dock lines, fenders and other gear.
The engine room on Buzz Mobile is accessed from the forward area of the crew quarters and is quite expansive. All systems are laid out very thoughtfully for ease of access and maintenance, such as the fuel filters being right centerline in the engine room and a sight gauge for the single fuel tank on the forward bulkhead wall. This engine room is extremely clean and reflects the top of the line maintenance program the owner keeps aboard Buzz Mobile.
In summary, Buzz Mobile is an spectacular example of a pristine and extremely well cared for Marlow Explorer 78E Command Bridge.
